Situated at Ardross Mains Farm, Ardross distillery will be capable of producing up to 1million litres of spirit a year once fully operational.
The distillery encompasses the 50-acre site, retaining the farm’s 19th-century steading buildings, farmhouse and cottages, while stone and slate from dilapidated buildings has been recovered as building materials.
The distillery itself, including the still house, tun room, mash house and mill room, is housed in the main building, while two detached cottages have been converted into offices and staff accommodation.
Alexander Sturrock was approached by Thomson and Bethune who were procurement cost management consultants for the project. They were looking for a timber component manufacturer who could not only meet the design brief for the bespoke timber components but also provide a finished joinery solution that equalled the quality of the overall development.
