The Brief

Our client’s property is a magnificent Scots-baronial country house in Aberdeenshire. Our client’s purchased the property and embarked on a major refurbishment and extension programme of works. Alexander Sturrock were appointed to manufacture and install the joinery package for the project. This included entrance doors, French doors, internal doors, stairs and finishings.

The Results

This significant project required meticulous planning and project management, ensuring that communication with the wider build team was paramount. The architectural timber components consisted of traditionally-styled hardwood sash and case windows throughout (with double-glazed units). The French doors were styled similarly with a spray-painted microporous white paint inside and out. For the internal joinery our clients selected Oak finished with a lacquer to show the beauty and elegance of this timeless timber. Internal doors were made to a traditional multi-panel raised and fielded style, produced in solid oak with a lacquer finish. The magnificent stair in the main house was constructed over three stories in solid oak with bespoke traditional cast iron balustrading. Our clients were delighted with the end result. Their vision of created a fabulous family home in the country was realised.
