The Brief

Chapel Park is a 200 years old Category B Listed former School in Forfar, Angus. The project involved the transformation of the former school buildings into 29 high quality affordable homes. Sturrocks were approached to produce a bespoke manufactured solution for the windows and external door screens in the project. Having worked on a number of similar projects in the past, Sturrocks were a natural first-choice manufacturer for a prestigious project such as this – where detail and quality were paramount.

The Results

Sturrocks manufactured bespoke timber windows that included traditional sliding sash & case, fully reversible mock sash & case, tilt & turn, fully reversible casement and bespoke glazing screens all manufactured in hardwood and glazed in low-sightline double glazed units and bedded with elasticated putty for an authentic traditional finish (on the relevant windows). A number of bespoke timber door screens were additionally produced, with all components finished in the dedicated paint facility at Sturrocks’ workshops. Alex Sturrock, Managing Director commented: “This was an excellent project to be involved in. We were able to bring our timber craftsmanship to the fore in the production of a range of bespoke timber windows and door screens.”
